Walkers can benefit from the many routes available to suit all ages and levels of ability. The experienced walker can enjoy the challenge of the local Cateran Trail - a long distance staged route which follows in the steps of the marauding clans and cattle thieves of the Highlands. For the real enthusiast, hill walking and climbing abound. Of the 284 Munros (mountains over 3000 feet) in Scotland, 12 or more can be found in the vicinity of Glenshee about 16 miles north of Glenisla.

For those with an interest in Wildlife and Bird watching, the nearby Loch of Lintrathen is an internationally important wetland reserve for wintering wildfowl. In summer, ospreys have been known to fish the loch. These birds of prey can be observed nesting at the Loch of the Lowes by Dunkeld. There is a wide range of wildlife and different species to regularly spot in the surrounding area - including red squirrels and deer.

The Cyclist can choose between travelling on the relatively traffic-free roads that wind through breathtaking scenery or the numerous forest tracks and mountain trails.

Horse riding can be arranged at Glenmarkie riding stables in Glenisla and Pathhead, Kirriemuir

Golfers have the choice of over 60 courses in Perthshire and Angus, Tayside all within one hours' drive. These include local courses of Alyth, Strathmore and Glenislaand Rosemount -Blairgowrie.
Several championship courses, Carnoustie, St Andrews and Gleneagles are under 50minutes drive.

Anglers can obtain permits from Blairgowrie to fish for brown trout and salmon on the many rivers, lochs and reservoirs in the area.
In winter, Downhill Skiing/Snow Boarding takes place in Glenshee and Glenisla has its own
